The Itkowitz PLLC Empty Walls Itinerant Art Initiative ("EWIAI") is a unique and ongoing exhibit featuring up and coming artists. Itkowitz PLLC is a Manhattan law firm occupying 8,700 s.f. in a Downtown - Tribeca building (see itkowitz.com). In 2010 we remodeled our office space, opening up our main floor and filling it with natural light. But the walls were bare. Rather than fill the space with static artwork, we chose to highlight the work of local artists and photographers in an ongoing rotating exhibit. We began inviting artists and photographers with otherwise itinerant pieces to exhibit their work on our walls. So far we are privileged to be displaying and enjoying the works of over thirty amazing artists. We are also thrilled to report that several of the works sold while they were hanging on our walls. (Itkowitz PLLC keeps none of the profits!) We began EWIAI as merely a clever solution to the problem of empty walls. But the program has delivered so much more than we expected. The walls have come alive with this authentic work.
